On May 1, 2026, workers, students, and families rally, march, and take action across the country to demand a nation that puts workers over billionaires, with many refusing business as usual through No School. No Work. No Shopping.
Instead of a general strike that may hurt communities already suffering from massive wealth inequality, IndiPen and its partner Making Waves Castine pledged to follow the Resist and Unsubscribe strategy proposed by Scott Galloway at the NYU School of Business.
Our Pledge
We pledge to unsubscribe from, or boycott 5 of the 38 services and products on the
Companies to Boycott list. The action will take place on May 1st, 2026, as coordinated
support of the May Day Strike.
Read Our Pledge to learn why we're taking this action and review the companies we are boycotting by unsubscribing from their services. These companies actively enable ICE, or are tech donors to Trump.
On March 28, 2026, Castine's Making Waves and Indivisible Peninsula organized a march and rally to say No Kings in America.
Some 120 people heard speeches by our Rep. Nina Milliken and the League of Women Voters' Ann Luther. Our own Amy DeBeck, UU minister in Castine, and Kevin DeBeck roused the crowd urging us to not to get adjusted to authoritarianism.
The event started at Fort George (Battle Ave. and Wadsworth Cove Rd.) followed by an assembly at the Town Common.
On July 14, 2025, we sponsored a presentation by MDI Red Cards at the Blue Hill Public Library. Kayla Gagnon and Alexa Kelly told us how to support our neighbors when ICE shows up and what our and their legal rights are, regardless of whether they are documented or or not.
The event was covered in the Weekly Packet.
We support members of our community.
On September 7, 2025, we hosted Ann Luther of the League of Women Voters and Beth Allen of Save Miane Absentee Voting at the Blue Hill Public Library.
They explained voter suppression efforts nationwide and the importance of voting No on 1 on November 4, when a referendum to restrict voting rights is on the ballot.
We support free and fair elections.
For those who couldn't attend, we recorded the talks.
